The Number 333, Vol. 2

Comments 30

“3:33,” the digital clock likes to tell me.

“Oh, here he goes again! Matt thinks he’s a numerologist!”

Believe what you want. I see the number sequence 333 ALL THE TIME. As I said before, I see it infinitely more than my semi-intelligent brain deems to be the statistical likelihood.

When I wrote about this the first time, I was amused to discover it was my 33rd post after hitting the “Publish” button.

This time, I knew it was coming. Post No. 333. There could only be one topic.

But, what to say?

What Does it Mean?

I still don’t know. But I love that I’m thinking about it.

When I wrote about this 300 posts ago, I made fun of some of the things I found on the internet in my quest for 333 answers. Because the most-common result when searching for 333 meaning is this: Angels and Ascended Masters are trying to get your attention.

<insert vinyl record-screeching noise here>

You fall into one of three camps:

Camp 1 – “Angels and ‘Ascended Masters’!?!? Are you phucking (you thoughtfully use “ph” to lessen the impact) stupid!?!?

My response: Maybe.

Camp 2 – “Well, OF COURSE it’s the angels, silly! What!? You thought it was just a funny coincidence all this time!? Hahaha!”

My response: Maybe.

Camp 3 – “I don’t live my life assuming I know anything for sure. I acknowledge I don’t have all the answers and try to stay open-minded.”

My response: Me too.

Several weeks ago, a friend set me up on a date with one of her friends. She included something akin to a cautionary warning: She has “unique abilities,” my friend said about my date.

Details were scarce. I didn’t know if I was dealing with Miss Cleo, the Long Island Medium, or just someone super-spiritual.

“She can see auras and detect certain energy,” I was told.

I grew up Catholic. I still am. Psychics scare us. But, dammit, if I’m going to walk a higher path, I’m not going to judge people and be afraid of things just because I don’t understand them.

As dates go, I wouldn’t call it successful. She insists she had a good time.

However, a legit friendship was born. She’s pretty fascinating. And the more I get to know and understand her, the more I appreciate her unique perspective on life. I have deep respect for how she experiences the world.

She’s the one who convinced me to try meditation, something I’d already been considering. Life-changing, I think.

I don’t need to be psychic to know what you’re thinking: “Is she for real? Does she intuitively know things?”

Maybe she’s just a good guesser, like me. But after hanging out with her a half dozen times? Yeah. I believe she’s the real deal.

I drove her to dinner about a month ago just to hang out for a few hours one random night. I pulled into a parking lot just off a road under construction. There was a huge dip as we pulled in that made both of us bounce quasi-violently in our seats. I do this thing where I instinctively put my right arm out to “protect” my passenger in situations like that, as if my floating arm is going to save anyone’s life in a car accident.

We were laughing about it as I apologized for the rough ride. “I didn’t know we were going to Moab!” I said, referring to a town in Utah famous among Jeep owners and off-road driving enthusiasts.

We pulled into a random parking spot seconds later. She tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to the back of the Jeep Wrangler parked in front of us.

“You said you’re always looking for signs,” she said with a mischievous grin. “You could have pulled into any of these other spots.”

On the Jeep’s back window was a large Moab, Utah sticker.

Things like that happen when you’re with her.

The Source has several names: Mother Earth. Allah. Nature. The Universe. The Supreme Being.

My friend and I use “God.”

The place from where light and love and energy emanate. God doesn’t speak to us in a booming voice from the heavens, she insists. Nor from a burning bush. Nor from impossible-to-miss miracles in the sky.

Rather, we’re spoken to in whispers.

And for most of my life, I’ve tried hard to plug my ears and not listen.

It’s not convenient to cede control. I’ve always been too afraid.

Because then I won’t get to do what I want!!!

I’m trying to remember the last time doing what I wanted brought me peace and happiness.

Still thinking…

333: All the Time

I see it on the clock.

I see it on microwave timers.

I see it as my phone or Jeep dash display tells me how much time remains in the song I’m listening to.

I see it on billboards: “Hotdog and soft drink combo! Just $3.33!”

I see it on email timestamps.

I see it on my word counter.

I see it on my treadmill.

I see it on my odometer. Just this morning at a stoplight: 13,333.

I understand if you think it’s bullshit. I think lots of things are bullshit.

My friend says it’s the angels. She doesn’t think, she says. She knows.

She calls me a “light worker.” Not light worker, like I only do light work, but light worker as in I’m someone called to do good.

And maybe sometimes I do. I don’t know. These things aren’t measurable.

And I don’t know that I believe I’m called any more than anyone else to be a force for good in this world.

Everyone is capable of lighting up the darkness.

If everyone tried, there wouldn’t be much dark left.

Which sounds pretty nice.

I don’t know much.

But I’m convinced there are many things about life beyond our understanding.

And if angels or the Universe or random chance choose the number 333 as a tool to remind me to walk a higher path, then it seems worth paying attention.

So, that’s what I’m doing.

I hope you will, too.

  1. I was born at 0333 so this number has significance for me too. The angels and ascended masters must be pretty annoyed with me by now for being so oblivious to their efforts. =-)

    1. I don’t really know what to think.

And even if, worst-case scenario, it’s all something made up in my head? It still keeps me smiling and thinking about doing good every time I see it.

So, near as I can figure, no bad can come from this.

      Yay, me.

And, dare I say it K? Yay you.

Hugs, lady. I hope things are going okay (or even well?) for you.

  2. Some people need the loud miracles because they ignored the millions of little, quiet ones. I think your friend is the real deal as well. I’ve known people that are.

And you’re right, we’re all called to do light work to drown out the darkness, but how many of us answer?

    1. It’s important to me that I not be part of the oblivious masses, if that’s in fact what most of us are part of.

I don’t think most people think beyond their jobs and what’s for dinner and what’s going on next weekend, etc.

      A little tragic, really.

There’s so much more going on. Big things.

  3. oh! I am all over this mess. I often wonder if these things are just practice rounds….Like God is preparing you for a really important “333”. Be on the look out, Matt. Something may be coming <3 <3 <3

PS – I 100% agree with this girl. You are a light worker. Although I may not have coined it that way, I've known it the whole time. I'm pretty sure we all have.

    1. And yeah. Totally noticed the Matt-whatever word (German? Scandinavian?) on that glass. It was the determining factor in choosing it. 🙂

  4. Oh Em GEEEE, this happens to me all the time! It seems to come is waves for me though. For example I will wake up every night for a week exactly at 3:33 am or glance at my pone during the day and it will be 3:33 pm and then for a week or not so much, then “it” starts up again. . . I’ve thought maybe I’ve subconsciously trained myself to wake up at that time but how would I be able to gauge it to the minute in my sleep?!? Anyway . . . would love it if it is Angels sending good vibes. . . I could use all the help I could get these days!

    1. I know precisely what you mean.

      I’m so glad you understand.

I’m currently operating under the assumption that a message is being communicated to me and that it’s my job to figure out what that is.

And that’s exactly what I’m doing.

Thank you very much for reading and commenting!

  5. My number is 213, has been for ages. I can’t remember why. But I can relate in many ways to the mysticism and intrigue you ponder. There’s power in believing and power in exploration, I’m certain. Searching for meaning contains as much meaning as it reveals.

  6. The truth is most people are constantly asking for signs. We pray, and ask for a sign. We secretly wish…and ask for a sign. The trouble is, we rarely open ourselves up to actually SEE the signs…and they are all around us. A song on the radio, the shirt someone is wearing, the numbers on a clock.

I believe in signs, and angels, and the Universe…and I guess, I believe in God too. I believe there is something greater out there watching me, guiding me, protecting me. When I get out of my own way, I see the see the signs everywhere…when I’m stuck and locked in my head, they are no where to be seen.

It takes a little bit of faith. Just a little…and if you are open to the possibilities, they are all around.

  7. Fair…
    143. But I believe I look for it subconsciously… My Grandma uses it at the end of messages; has done her entire life. Somehow I internalised it. Now I see and use it all the time.

    1. I may very well seek it out.

I don’t worry too much about it. I just think it’s an interesting side thing that I experience with great frequency.

  8. Lovely post! After years of soul searching, I finally came to the conclusion that some things just have to be taken on faith. Does the deity that I worship objectively exist? I don’t know. Are the signs I see really signs or just coincidences? I have no idea.

I think that what really matters is what behaviour that belief inspires in you. My faith inspires me to treat everyone (including myself) with kindness and respect. It inspires me to look after my health because to take care of others and do my work in the world I have to be healthy. It inspires me to work towards justice for everyone. It inspires me to hold firm to my ethics when I’m under pressure not to.

If the effects are good, does it really matter if the actions are inspired by something real or not?

  9. Mine is 11:11. I see it all the time. I’d like to say almost every single day. I swear it’s my Grandma who passed away just stopping by to say hello. I always think of her then say a silent “I love you and miss you”.
I feel the same way about deja vus. When you have a feeling like you know someone or have been here before, you have, in a previous life. That familiar feeling doesn’t just pop up for no reason. It’s a fabulous thing to tune into these signs!

    1. I’m always trying to pay attention to the details. Fail a lot.

      But always trying.

Thank you so much for reading and leaving this note!

  10. Maybe the difference between a light worker (light like in “the light of love”) and everybody else is that the light worker is seeking awareness in all of this.

    Just a thought.

I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you, Matt.
    Much love!

      1. Actually, that was not lousy at all…

And you are not responsible for my feeling shy and insecure, sometimes.

It really feels good, though, to mutually share gratitude with you. 🙂

  11. Did you ever get to explore that Moab, Utah angle? Just curious. Most of the time these signs that we are given point to something – either something that we have to do in order to evolve more spiritually or how we can get to help someone else. There are different ways lightworkers get to help others, and sometimes they’re not even noticeable to the ones you’ve helped until some time later when it “clicks” with them and they remember to mention how something you’ve said or something you’ve done led them to a different path. But help others, you will, if you continue walking the higher path. Enjoy the journey!

  12. Well my friend you’re not the only one looking for answers, I too see these numbers and still don’t know what they mean I think we’re not going to find out over the internet but only through spiritual means.

  13. I am so happy for you! I thought of your 1st 333 post and needed a laugh (AMAZING!!!!).

I am Catholic and see numbers a lot. I have learned the meanings over time. We can create our own meanings and codes, to an extent.

Jesus Christ is an “ascended master.” So is Mary.

333 means, to me, the energy and quantification of the holy trinity. When I see 3333, I know Mother Mary is involved.

I see the numbers in relation to living beings as you described in your last post.

Some people seem to get 333s and some 444s (archangels, to me). Many people see 1111s. You are far from alone. We start seeing the same ones in bonding and attuning because everything is energy. There is a merger of energies when we have ongoing contact with someone else.

This contact need not be physical. Hence, telepathy, which is similar to prayer, based upon who we are contacting in the mind.

I know a very psychic person who sees aura and refuses to do the numbers with me. It’s however we best receive.

The 333s are a translation of universal energy being sent to you. Some people may have visions, dreams, or hear audio. Numbers are a convenient way to translate divine energies, which exist in “feeling” and not “words.”

“Ascended masters” does sound funny. It means people who have completed the ascension process, like Jesus.

Don’t think you aren’t ‘psychic” because of being raised Catholic. There are many words for the same things. At my mom’s non-denominational church, it’s called “prophetic.”

Keep meditating. We are all “psychic” at root. Those who aren’t have simply shut down to their spirit. ?
